About this race
The Barry O'Sullivan Memorial 5k follows a single-loop paved course that starts and finishes in the village of Dromahane, near Mallow, Co. Cork. Organized by the Dromahane Roadrunners AC, the route travels through the surrounding rural townlands on quiet, marshaled country roads. The course features the rolling hills and steady drags characteristic of the North Cork landscape. Runners navigate a scenic circuit that begins near the heart of the village before returning toward the finish line.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
