About this race
The Baltinglass GAA Halloween 5K is a fun run on the country roads on the edge of Baltinglass, County Wicklow. The course starts beside a sports pitch just outside the town and heads south-east along the road to a junction, where it turns south-west onto Green Lane. At the end of Green Lane it continues south-east to a turnaround point, then retraces its steps before turning north-west onto the long straight road that leads back towards the town. A short loop at the town end completes the course. The route is almost entirely paved. The profile is gently undulating, with one short climb in the first kilometre, a drop onto Green Lane, a flat middle section and a steady climb over the final kilometre. The course is quiet and rural, with the River Slaney running close to the route in places.
