About this race
The Very Pink Run Cork 5k is a charity fun run held at the Arena, MTU, on Bishopstown Road in Cork city. The event is not chip timed and welcomes runners, joggers, walkers and wheelchair users of all ages and abilities. Organised in partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland, the course takes place on roads and paths in and around the MTU campus in Bishopstown, on the south side of Cork city. The campus setting provides a largely flat and accessible route suitable for participants of all fitness levels. The event forms part of a national series that also visits Dublin and Kilkenny and raises vital funds for breast cancer research and awareness. Music, face painters and family entertainment are part of the occasion.

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind.
