About this race
The Stonetown 5K is an inaugural community road race in the small rural townland of Stonetown, near Louth village, Co. Louth, run in memory of neighbours Mark, Louise and Evan O'Connor. The professionally measured, chip-timed 5K route is a mostly paved loop through quiet Louth country roads, with a short section on unsurfaced lanes. Rather than a flat course, it is genuinely undulating throughout, featuring several short climbs and descents in its first half before a longer, more sustained hill in the closing kilometre, giving the route a testing finish. Runners can expect narrow, rural roads typical of the South Louth countryside around Louth village. Every finisher receives a bespoke commemorative medal and event buff. Beyond the running, the day is framed as one of remembrance and community, bringing neighbours together to honour the O'Connor family while supporting causes that mattered to them.
