About this race
The Noel McManus Memorial 10k follows a single-loop paved route that starts and finishes within the historic Lough Rynn Castle estate in Mohill, Co. Leitrim. The course departs from the castle grounds to navigate the quiet, scenic roads of the surrounding countryside, offering a longer circuit than the 5k event. The terrain is known for its picturesque scenery but features a challenging profile of rolling hills and steady drags. Participants pass through the estate’s parkland and the local village area before returning for a finish at the castle.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
