About this race
The route for the Newbridge 5k begins on Great Connell Road near the industrial park, heading southeast before looping northward. Runners follow a clockwise loop navigating the perimeter of the Great Connell area through a mix of commercial and rural surroundings. The course is remarkably flat and fast, utilizing long, straight stretches along paved roads that are ideal for setting personal bests. After rounding the northernmost point of the loop, the path returns southwest along the main corridor to conclude near the initial starting area.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
