About this race
The Monaghan 10 Miler starts and finishes in Church Square, Monaghan, in front of the town's iconic courthouse building. Known for its fast, flat course, the race completes a loop of Monaghan town before heading out the Clones Road into open country roads, passing through the picturesque village of Ballinode. From there the route turns back towards Monaghan, retracing its way to the finish line at Church Square. The course is entirely on tarmac, with a flat profile that has made it a popular choice for runners training for the Dublin City Marathon as well as those chasing a personal best. A shorter 5 mile option runs the earlier section of the same route for those preferring the lower distance. Finishers are welcomed back to a lively party atmosphere in the square, with a race DJ, cheering supporters and food, making it a firm fixture on the Ulster summer running calendar.
