About this race

The Michael Manning Memorial Dunshaughlin 10k begins on the R125 and concludes with a high-energy finish on Lagore Road. This fast, single-loop course guides participants from the heart of the town centre through scenic rural roads, passing through local landmarks like Donnelly’s Cross and Greenhills. The terrain is predominantly level and is widely regarded as one of the premier flat and fast courses in the country. While mostly level, the section between the 6km and 8km marks features a slight incline that offers a rewarding challenge for athletes. The race culminates in a flat sprint to the finish line, providing a professional and high-spirited atmosphere for all participants.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
