About this race
The Killyclogher 5k Fun Run/Walk is an annual chip-timed event held alongside the Killyclogher 10k Road Race, organised by Killyclogher/Cappagh GAC in conjunction with the Enda Dolan Foundation. Both events start and finish at the club's grounds in Ballinamullan, on the outskirts of Omagh in Co. Tyrone. The 5k course follows local roads in the Killyclogher area and is described as flat, making it well suited to beginners, families, and those completing a Couch to 5k programme. The event is chip-timed and open to all ages and abilities. Post-race refreshments are provided for all participants in the Dún Uladh centre. Organised in memory of Enda Dolan, the event has grown significantly year on year and attracts hundreds of runners and walkers from across the region. A popular Couch to 5k training programme runs in the weeks leading up to race day.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
