About this race
The Irish Life Fingal 10k takes place on Sunday 12 July 2026 at 9:30am in Swords, County Dublin, as the opening race in the Irish Life Dublin Race Series. The course starts and finishes on North Street in Swords and follows a single-loop route heading north through the Rathbeale area before continuing on quiet rural roads through the Cookstown countryside towards Ballyboughal. The route then loops back south on a parallel course, returning runners to the town for the finish. The course is largely flat with one gentle rise in the middle section and just 29 metres of total ascent across the 10km, making it a fast and PB-friendly course on wide closed roads. All finishers receive a medal, race t-shirt and goodie bag. Pacers are available for 45, 50, 55 and 60-minute target finish times.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
