About this race
The Inis Iron Meáin Cúrsa Fíor Chrua is a 12k race on the Aran Island of Inis Meáin, starting and finishing at Halla Naomh Eoin. The course follows the same route as the 10k, traversing island roads on both the north and south sides of the island, before diverting at roughly the midway point onto a section that includes sand dunes and a beach run along Ceann Gainnimh. After approximately two kilometres of this varied terrain, the route rejoins the main road course and continues back to the finish. The course takes in a steep early climb, a slow steady inland ascent, and a gradual descent to the old pier at Cora Point, offering spectacular scenery throughout. Finishers receive a goody bag, t-shirt, and barbecue buffet access.
