About this race
The Dunboyne 10k begins at the Old Navan Road in the heart of Dunboyne Village and concludes with an exciting final lap on the Dunboyne AC 400m tartan track. This scenic left-handed route leads participants through the village and onwards around the historic "Moor of Meath" before returning via Rooske Road. The course is renowned for being exceptionally flat and fast, making it a favorite for those seeking a personal best. It is largely level with minimal inclines. It offers a fantastic atmosphere for both elite athletes and casual runners, blending a professional race feel with local club hospitality.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
