About this race
The Cork BHAA ThermoFisher Scientific 4mile is held in Ringaskiddy, south Cork. Registration takes place at Raffeen Creek Golf Club from 6:30pm. The course follows a flat loop of tarmac roads through the Ringaskiddy industrial estate, sharing much of the route used by other BHAA races in the area. Sponsored by ThermoFisher Scientific and typically one of the last evening road races of the summer season, the 2025 edition was rescheduled to early September due to a clash. Entry is available on the evening of the race.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
