About this race
The Cooley Coast Run 10k starts and finishes at the Cooley Kickhams GFC grounds in Monksland, Carlingford. The entirely paved course travels directly along the shoreline of Carlingford Lough, providing a flat to gently undulating profile at sea level. The route is situated between the Cooley Mountains and the coast, with the inland 5k distance remaining separate from the coastal path. Participants navigate open public roads that are marshaled for the duration of the event.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
