The Bob Heffernan and Mary Hanley 5k is widely regarded as one of Ireland's fastest and flattest road races, consistently attracting a high-quality field of athletes. The single-loop course starts approximately one mile outside the village of Johnstownbridge and travels along smooth, sheltered country roads with only two significant left-hand turns.
