About this race
The Balbriggan Summerfest 5k is an annual evening road race organised by Balbriggan Roadrunners as part of the Balbriggan Summerfest community festival. The event starts from St. Molaga's School and follows a scenic coastal route through the town. The race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and is known for its warm post-race hospitality and refreshments. Medals are awarded to all finishers. The event is part of a week-long community festival that takes place over the June bank holiday weekend each year and is one of the most popular community races in North Dublin.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
