About this race
The Very Pink Run Cork 10k is a charity fun run held at the Arena, MTU, on Bishopstown Road in Cork city. The event is not chip timed and is open to runners, joggers, walkers and wheelchair users of all ages and abilities. Organised in partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland, the course takes place on roads and paths in and around the MTU campus in Bishopstown, on the south side of the city. The campus and surrounding area provide a largely flat and accessible route that suits a wide range of participants. The event is part of a national three-venue series that also takes place in Dublin and Kilkenny, raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness. A festive atmosphere with music and family entertainment accompanies the run.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
