About this race
The Tralee 10k Road Race begins and ends in the picturesque Tralee Town Park, serving as a scenic centerpiece for this popular community event. This well-planned route leads participants out onto quiet country roads that offer breathtaking views of the Kerry landscape and the majestic Mount Brandon. Runners navigate a captivating return journey that traces the edge of the historic Tralee Ship Canal and passes the iconic Blennerville Windmill. The course also loops past the local Aquadome before concluding near the Kerry County Museum in the heart of the town. Celebrated for being flat and fast, the terrain consists of smooth tarmac with only one minor rise, making it an ideal choice for athletes seeking a personal best.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
