About this race
The St. Finbarr's AC Cork City 10k is a popular annual road race in Cork City, organised by St. Finbarr's Athletic Club. The course starts outside the main gate of Fitzgerald's Park on the Mardyke and finishes at The Lee Fields on the banks of the River Lee, adjacent to The Kingsley Hotel. The route follows the Lee Road and Straight Road circuit, a well-established course that is mainly flat and fast, with the second half running along the flattest and straightest section of road in Cork. Chip timed and run under an Athletics Ireland permit, the race is part of the Peugeot Race Series and forms part of St. Finbarr's AC's 75th anniversary celebrations in 2026. It typically sells out well in advance.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
