About this race
The RunSkibb 10k is an out-and-back road race that starts and finishes at the Riverside Complex on Marsh Road. The route heads into Skibbereen town before following the Schull Road alongside the Ilen River toward Newbridge. After crossing the river, participants pass local landmarks including the Skibbereen Rowing Club before reaching the halfway turnaround point. The course is primarily flat and paved, retracing the same riverside path back to the finish line.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
