About this race
The Larne AC Coast Road 10 Miler is a flat and fast out-and-back road race starting at the top of Larne Promenade on the Coast Road. The course follows the stunning Antrim Coast Road northward to the turning point at the Halfway House Hotel, before runners retrace the route back to the finish line at the Prom Café on Larne Promenade. The course is renowned for its exceptional flatness and fast conditions, making it a popular choice for those chasing personal bests. The route is fully road-based and marshalled throughout, with the spectacular scenery of the County Antrim coastline providing a dramatic backdrop. Tea and food are provided after the race. The event is organised by Larne Athletic Club and attracts over 700 runners annually.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
