About this race
The Great Glinsk Run 10k is an annual community road race held in the village of Glinsk, Co. Galway. Organised by Glinsk GAA and Glinsk LGFA in partnership with local community groups, the event serves as a fundraiser for Caisleán Oir Creche and Glinsk Community Development. The 10k course takes runners through the scenic rural landscape surrounding the village, characterised by traditional stone walls and open Galway countryside. The event also includes 5k and 1km fun run options running alongside the 10k. It is a welcoming, community-driven occasion suitable for all abilities. Entry fee and start time for 2026 have not yet been confirmed online.

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind.
