About this race
The Donegal Town Eamon Harvey 10k follows a loop starting and finishing at the Abbey Vocational School. The opening 3km winds through the town center, passing Donegal Castle and crossing the River Eske twice. From the 3km mark to 5.5km, runners face a gradual climb as the route heads south toward the Tullyearl area. The second half features a scenic coastal stretch with views of Donegal Bay before turning back toward the town. This entirely paved path provides an atmospheric journey through both historic streets and the rugged Atlantic coastline.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
