About this race
The Cork BHAA PwC Anthony Reidy Memorial 5k is a popular evening race in Cork City, named for the late Anthony Reidy. Race HQ is at the PwC offices on One Albert Quay, where registration opens from 6pm. The start is near Kennedy Park on the Marina, roughly 600 metres from race HQ. The course follows a flat out-and-back route along Monahan Road, looping through the Marina Park and back along the riverside paths. The route is entirely on tarmac and is one of the flattest 5k courses in Cork. Online pre-entry and on-the-evening entry are both available.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
