About this race

The Comber 10k is a popular road race organised by Ballydrain Harriers and Athletic Club, taking place in Comber town centre in County Down. The course starts and finishes at The Green on Castle Lane and follows a flat and fast two-lap route around the streets of this historic County Down town. The course is certified and accurately measured by Athletics NI, making it ideal for runners targeting a personal best. Pacers are provided at five-minute intervals from sub-40 to sub-60 minutes. A generous prize fund is offered, including bonuses for breaking the course record, and a team prize is awarded to clubs. The race sells out early each year due to its reputation for quality organisation, value for money, and a competitive but welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Comber.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
