About this race

The Ardglass 10k is a summer evening road race organised by Atlas Running, starting and finishing at Ardglass Primary School in the coastal village of Ardglass, County Down. The course takes runners out along the quiet country roads surrounding the town, offering scenic views in a coastal setting. The terrain is rolling rather than flat, with gentle undulations that make the course moderately challenging without being severe. The race is chip timed, with medals awarded to all finishers and prizes for the top three male and female runners. Registration takes place at the primary school from 5pm, with the 10k starting at 7pm. Post-race refreshments are served in the school hall. Located approximately fifteen minutes from Downpatrick, the event draws a strong field from across County Down and beyond each summer.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
