About this race
Run Newbridge 5k starts and finishes at Sean O'Leary GAC in Newbridge, about a mile from Toomebridge, County Antrim. The course is a flat, fast circuit around the Newbridge area, run entirely on tarmac roads with no recorded elevation gain over the full distance. Designed specifically as a PB-friendly route, it avoids any significant hills, giving runners a genuine chance at a fast, confidence-building time. The race is Athletics NI accredited and fully chip timed, with the 10km starting shortly beforehand on the same course network. Cash prizes are on offer for the top three overall finishers, age group winners in ten-year brackets, and course record breakers, with over £1,000 in prize money across the full event. Now in its second year, it has quickly built a reputation as one of the flattest, quickest summer road races in the area, suited equally to first-timers and experienced club runners chasing a personal best.
