About this race
The Malahide Castle 10k takes place on the grounds of Malahide Castle and Gardens in north County Dublin. The route explores the full extent of the castle demesne, taking runners through paths, trails and grass areas in a single lap of the estate. Starting and finishing at the helipad area adjacent to the Avoca car park beside the castle, the course is generally flat but features a short uphill drag near the finish. Water is available just after the 5km mark. The event is chip-timed and limited to 500 participants, with a technical neck buff, finisher medal, and post-race refreshments included in the entry.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
