About this race
The 41st Annual Coillte 10k is a road race organised by Dundrum Athletic Club in the village of Dundrum, County Tipperary, approximately nine miles west of Cashel. Based at the Dundrum Community Hall Complex, the course follows a two-lap loop of a 5k circuit on the roads around the village. The route is widely regarded as one of the flattest and fastest road race courses in the country, featuring several long straight sections that allow runners to maintain pace throughout. One section of the loop passes close enough to the village that spectators can see runners at up to four different points on the course with minimal movement. A junior 5k race is also held alongside the main event. All online finishers receive an embroidered souvenir hand towel, a long-standing tradition of the race. Coillte is the event's main sponsor.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
