About this race
The Wexford Festival of Running 10k takes place on a certified 1.3km loop course set within the grounds of Johnstown Castle, Co. Wexford. Organised by the Wexford Marathon Club, the route winds repeatedly through the manicured gardens surrounding the 19th-century castle, passing a serene ornamental lake and mature woodland. The tarmac surface is flat throughout, making the course ideal for those seeking a personal best. The enclosed, fully marshalled loop allows easy access to aid stations and a strong event atmosphere on every circuit. All four distances share the same loop. The 10k begins at 5pm with all events concluding by 7pm. Chip timing is in operation throughout the day.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
