About this race
The Laganside 10k begins and ends within the scenic Ormeau Park, specifically on the path near the Ormeau Road entrance and the Bowling Pavilion. This two-lap course leads participants through the park before exiting onto Ravenhill Road and following the Albertbridge Road toward the iconic Lagan towpath. Runners enjoy picturesque river views as they traverse the Ormeau Embankment and pass historic landmarks like the Ormeau Bridge. The route is renowned for being exceptionally flat and fast, consisting of smooth tarmac and park paths designed for peak performance. Providing a professional and high-energy atmosphere, the race concludes with a triumphant finish back in the heart of the park.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
